Kitchen Refacing Instead of Replacing

After living in this house for 25 years, disaster struck when Hurricane Ivan cause a tree to fall into the kitchen area of the Paterson family home. We worked with the Patersons to restore their kitchen back to like new in 3 weeks.

Give Your Kitchen New Life by Refacing Instead of Replacing

Our client, Angie, had a kitchen with a good layout and bones, but the style was screaming 1980’s. She had been waiting for the right time to jump in and bring it into the 21st century. She called our team and we came up with a game plan to reface her cabinets instead of ripping them out and rebuilding. The layout was efficient and the cabinet boxes were solid wood and in good condition. So we decided to replace the old arched doors with simple shaker style door and drawer fronts and to rebuild the drawer boxes. This allowed us to install new soft-close, full extension under-mount drawer glides, and soft-close door hinges. This is an upgrade that most contractors do not want to spend the money on, but we have adopted it as a standard feature. Below is how this kitchen looked at our first in-home consultation.

And below after 3 days of hard work on refacing the cabinets with the new doors and drawers.

We are very excited about the new farmhouse style sink we installed. It is made to fit into existing cabinetry after removing the false drawer that most kitchens typically have.

Below you can see a close up of the under-mount, full extension drawer glides that will last longer and be more stable than traditional side mounts.
